2025 Genesis GV70 Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos
The 2025 Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury crossover SUV, a mouthful of a category that also includes the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, and Volvo XC60.

The 2025 Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury SUV with distinctive styling, starting with a big shield of a grille flanked by a quartet of thin light bars. From the side, the GV70 has more in common with wagons than SUVs, though its rear quarter window seems tacked on. It’s more cohesive from the rear, though, where the taillights echo what’s up front.
The GV70’s even better inside with its low dash and wing-inspired design cues. Genesis does details better than just about anyone, so look closely and you’ll find all sorts of authentic, appealing touches with little in the way of gimmickry.
Genesis offers the GV70 in three basic flavors: a 300-hp turbo-4, a 375-hp twin-turbo V-6, or a 483-hp fully electric model. All are peppy, though the middle child is the quickest one here. The GV70 has a refined, comfortable ride and good, if not quite sporty, handling. It’s pleasant and comfortable.
Gas models check in between 20 and 24 mpg combined, depending on the setup. The Electrified GV70’s 236-mile range estimate isn’t great, though a 250-kw charger can add 60 miles of range in a scant five minutes under ideal circumstances. Even a nearly empty battery can be back on full on a Level 2 charger in a reasonable seven hours, though.
Though not one of the biggest compact luxury crossovers, the GV70 certainly has one of the nicest cabins. Its interior is divine to behold, and it has comfortable seats for four—or five in a tight squeeze. Its cargo space is on the small end, though.
The GV70 has done very well in crash tests and all models come with some safety tech that costs extra on rivals. You’ll find adaptive cruise control with stop-and go, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and active lane control across the line, while a blind-spot camera system, a surround-view camera system, and a highway driving assist system are available.
How much does the 2025 Genesis GV70 cost?
The base GV70 Standard runs $47,050 to start, a somewhat hefty $1,000 more than last year’s model given the limited changes for 2025. It’s still a good overall value, though. You’ll find a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone projection, synthetic leather over heated and power-adjustable front seats, and plenty of driver-assistance tech.
Still, we’d budget for a mid-level model for another $10,000 or so, since this cabin is at its best with leather and upgraded trim.
